Dr. Emily Kerby joined Balboa Nephrology Medical Group in 2025. She is a board-certified general surgeon and specializes in abdominal transplant and hepatobiliary surgery.

Dr. Kerby earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Michigan State University. Next, she attended medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed her general surgery residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. After that, she completed a fellowship in Abdominal Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital.

Dr. Kerby is excited to care for patients with complex needs. She helps patients navigate difficult health concerns so they can return to what brings them joy. In addition, she brings experience in open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kerby enjoys playing saxophone, walking her dogs, and watching or playing soccer.
