Dr. Khawar joined Balboa Nephrology Medical Group in 2016 and practices in the Escondido area. He specializes in kidney disease and cares for both hemodialysis and transplant patients. In addition, he has a strong interest in home dialysis, including home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. He also serves as a Principal Investigator for Balboa Research.

He attended medical school at the University of Glasgow. Next, he earned a master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. After that, he completed his residency at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, CA. He then completed his nephrology training at Harbor-UCLA.

Dr. Khawar also works in the medical device field as a CEO for a company developing a new home hemodialysis machine. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and learning electric guitar.
