Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, which means the focus is on food and quality time with loved ones. When living with chronic kidney disease, there are certain foods that you should avoid, and typically, a kidney-friendly or renal diet involves limiting your intake of sodium, potassium, and phosphorus —but this doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on your favorite holiday treats. It can be overwhelming to manage everything in a typical week, but it can seem impossible during the holidays. A kidney-friendly Thanksgiving is still possible!
Our friends at ReMend hosted their monthly webinar focusing on A Kidney-Friendly Thanksgiving and featured mentor, Serena Cuevas who happens to be a Registered Dietician. You’ll hear about Serena’s journey with dialysis and transplantation and also pick up some renal diet tips including certain foods you should avoid, information about lab values and kidney-friendly snacks.
