“I donated a kidney anonymously in 2000.  When I eventually met the recipient’s son after the recipient passed away 10 years later, he said his father had been near death before the transplant (he was 60 at the time.) but got all of his joyous energy back for the 10 years and life he lived after the surgery.  I donated a piece of my liver in 2019 to a 1-year-old child and the parents and I have stayed in touch and their little girl is doing great!”
