While BBQ sauces are delicious and add a special zing to a cookout, it’s not the best thing to have while on a kidney-friendly diet. Spicy BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 tablespoon all-purpose white flour
1/4 cup dark corn syrup
1/4 cup tarragon vinegar
1/4 cup onion
1 cup water
2 teaspoon dry mustard
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon Tabasco® sauce
1 teaspoon Kitchen Bouquet® seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt
Preparation
1. Stir oil and flour together to make a paste.
2. Chop onion.
3. Add all remaining ingredients.
4. Cook the mixture on low heat until it thickens.
5. Brush sauce on baked or grilled meat.

Kitchen Bouquet is a browning and seasoning sauce composed of caramel with vegetable flavorings.
