The Do’s and Don’ts of Maintaining Your Kidney Health

When it comes to maintaining good health, your kidneys play a vital role. But many people may not be aware of the minor lifestyle changes that can help ensure optimal kidney function.

For starters, avoid smoking and excess alcohol consumption, as both can harm your kidneys over time. Additionally, a balanced diet with lots of fiber-rich fruits and veggies is crucial, as is limiting salt intake. Check out this simple grilled vegetable recipe which complements grilled chicken or as a main dish itself!  Regular exercise also keeps the blood flowing and can help reduce the chance of kidney disease. Conversely, too much caffeine or processed foods can stress your kidneys, so it’s best to limit those as well.
